Did lower carb last week, tried to keep it between 40-60 and actually gained 2 pounds. What is the deal?

What was your calorie intake?? I eat low carb, but if my calories are too high, it doesn't matter. I gain.

Me! Lower carb eating doesn't work for me - at all! I think people are metabolically different. I think we respond in varying ways to different diets.

Stayed with in my MFP calorie recommendations 1430 with out exercise and about 1800 with exercise. I exercise 5 days a week. I reviewed my diary and I did have a few days where my carbs were closer to 100. So that may be it but still much less than normal.

I am also doing low carb... but also clean eating/paleo
you need to also watch your calories and sugar intake. Especially if you are eating the low carb bars... they are FULL of sugar and crap your body doesnt need..

I read about low carb eating... and apparantly your body stores carbs. so if you are eating low carbs and then have a spike in your intake your body will hold onto it and that could be the weight gain. But I don't have a source of where I got that from... so maybe google it or something... :P

Not doing the bars but had a stressful week and ate out more than normal. Looking over my diary I may not have been accurately tracking everything. Going to hit it hard core this week.
On that note how many carbs do you aim for a day? I am not willing to cut veggies and want to do 2 servings of fruit a day.

You should definitely NOT cut veggies! That's where you should be getting the majority of your carbs from. Fruits are ok, but they are high in sugar so limit them during the weightloss phase. I stick to under 50 carbs per day, closer to 30 most days. But I am a Paleo/Primal eater.

Stress can play a big factor in not losing weight. Cortisol is tough. Also, if you're doing strenuous cardio workouts, that can make your cortisol level go up.

Were you losing before with the same amount of calories?

Make sure you track everything as best you can. I'm sure you'll have a better week.

When I was successful doing Atkins I kept my net carbs between 25-30 a day AND made sure I had my 2-3 cups of green veggies daily (FIBER NEEDED)..
