    Out on the front line
    dont worry I'll be fine
    the story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
    so long to the regret
and now I see the world through diamond eyes

Cuz you came and you took control
    You touch my very soul
    You always show me that
Lovin' you is where it's at
You've made me so very happy
I'm so glad you came into my life ~ in the style of Alton Ellis R.I.P:flowerforyou:

    Now there you go again
You say you want your freedom
Well who am I to keep you down
It's only right that you should play it the way that you feel it
But listen carefully to the sound of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat, drives you mad
    In the stillness of remembering
What you had, and what you lost
What you had, and what you lost

    -- Fleetwood Mac "Dreams"

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had

Tears for Fears - "Mad World"

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
    We're just two lost souls
    Swimming in a fish bowl,
    Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
    What have we found?
    The same old fears.
    Wish you were here.

Pink Floyd - "Wish you were here"

Well I'm thinking of the worst things
That I could say to you
But a promise doesn't mean a thing anymore
And this never will be right with me
    And now you're trying desperately
But I'm tongue-tied and terrified of what I'll say

Mayday Parade I'd hate to be you when people find out what this song is about

I'll be reaching for the stars with you, honey. Who cares, no one else believes. So I, set fire to everyone around
But I told you, I told you we'd do it.

The Man Who Sold the World - As recorded by Nirvana

We passed upon the stair, we spoke in was and when
Although I wasn't there, he said I was his friend
Which came as a surprise, I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long long time ago

    Oh no, not me
    We never lost control
    You're face to face
With The Man Who Sold The World

I laughed and shook his hand, and made my way back home
I searched for a foreign land, for years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazeless stare, we walked a million hills
I must have died alone, a long long time ago

    Who knows? Not me
    I never lost control
    You're face to face
With the Man who Sold the World

    Who knows? not me
    We never lost control
    You're face to face

OH really? I need to hear Bowie's version (origina) too. This song just completely resonate's with me, perhaps too much.

Edit: Just watched it, and wow she was very good too; it brought a chill down my back. Thanks!

You're right... I'm not at all a fan of Bowie but I went on iTunes and listened to it and I did not like it at all. Cobain and Jordis actually made the song good I think. It's a pretty emotional song and Bowie screwed up his own song. LOL

I think it's very rare that someone does a copy of a song better than the original artist. A lot would say Nirvana did it better than Bowie, I'm a fan of both, probably like Jordis better than both of them because her voice is just so beautiful. I love NIN, but I think the Johnny Cash version of Hurt blows away the original. Shinedown did a great cover of Skynard's Simple Man.

I didn't realize that Jordis's version could be bought on iTunes either, that's pretty cool. It's funny because I watched that Inxs series but I didn't remember her covering that song.

I know!! This show really was awesome. At one point I thought they might have Rock Star Van Halen, before they brought back David of course.

One of my favorites... "Stalling Out" by MuteMath

    Racing on a faultline
    Bracing for a landslide
Conscious of every move getting harder
    Has the race gone underwater?

    I keep stalling out
    I just can't keep up
    There's alarming doubt
    Am I good enough?
    But you keep coming around
    To convince me
    It's still far from over...

Mute Math is the best band ever!

my roommate/cousin is always singing this :) Reminds me of 8th grade.
  • The guitar part always resonated with me. I love what's called "comping." The lyrics never hit me until I got a little older and have been around musicians and self-destructive people.

..hah do you find it a point to make me feel a little immature? Or is that just me? lol

    Save it
You know you've been shut down
    Your ****'s been figured out
And all your ways belong to fate
I can't believe you had me

    - SAY IT by Evans Blue

Tequila loves me even if you don't

    - TEQUILA LOVES ME by Kenny Chesney

    When life won't play along
    And right keeps going wrong
And I can't seem to find my way
I know where I am found
So I won't let it drag me down
    No, I'll keep dancin' anyway...

    - MOVE by Mercy Me

Give me a chance to be that person I wanna be
Oh Lord, I'll try so hard, but you gotta let go of me
I don't belong here, I've gotta move on, dear
Escape from this afterlife 'cause this time I'm right
To move on and on...far away from here

    There is no competition
    There is no competition
Many have called but the chosen are few

...not exactly the most lyrically complex song, I suppose
