MFP Exercise estimates

Okay, so I am aware that the exercise calories burned on MFP are very wide estimates but why has mine changed? Today I did 40 minutes elliptical-- the same as last Tuesday-- and the calories burned are different. I'm not using the scale and the one time I did get on in the last 4 weeks I had lost 5lbs. So I'm just wondering why it has changed.

Oh, I underestimate my calories a bit since I can't afford a HRM right now. My 40 minutes on the elliptical starts on level 5 and ends on 8 plus I do 100 reps with 50lbs on ab machine and my 3 (1min) planks. I don't record that, because I consider it strength training.

So- I'm just wondering why the totals changed on me.

Did you update your weight since last Tuesday? If so, that's why.

Actually, I changed it on the 11th of May. I did, at some point in the last week, change my weight loss goals to 1.5lbs a week, but why would that change my calories burned when the exercise has stayed the same?

Nope, I haven't touched it since the day I changed it. It's no big deal, I was just wondering.
