Burned by HRM Electrode?

This is probably beyond a stupid question. I just purchased the polar ft 7 once I used for the first time this morning. Off topic, but this thing is amazing, I love it.
But anyway, the only issue I have is while I was running as well as the rest of the day I have a sharp pain on my west right where the electrode laid. I really don't think it was too tight it actually felt very good, but I have no idea what else could be wrong.
Anyone?

i don't think think the low voltage (amp) battery inside the unit or the rubber casing would have the potential to give you an electrical shock.0

I have a Polar FT7 as well. I haven't really experienced any problems with it.0
