Hi there,
Just signed up this morning, moved in with my boyfriend at the start of the year and the "boyfriend weight" is piling on... too many takeaways in front of the tv and not enough exercise :-)
Am hoping to lose about 2 stone over the next few months, nothing too drastic as I don't want to pile it all back on again!
Really appreciate any insight/help/tips I can pick up along the way.

Welcome to the site! I had to pull up a website to convert stone to pounds... ;-) So 14 lbs isn't too terrible - I have 100 lbs to lose! I know it's never easy regardless, but it is definitely do-able! This site is great if you use it (I say that because in the month I've been here I am good at logging in for a few days, then miss a few days when I'm ashamed of what I've eaten, then I come back, etc). Today I start a new challenge of exercising for a minimum of 30 mins EVERY SINGLE DAY for 21 days. They say it takes 21 days to make a habit - and this is a habit I desperately need! Good luck on your weigh loss! :)

I have only been doing this for about two months, but I can tell you that this community can answer nearly every question you may have along the way! Feel free to add me as a friend for daily support.
Anyway, I've found that logging food (specifics, not "quick add calories") keep me honest and accountable. When I go over, it's not the end of the world. In fact, that will usually get me up and moving; doing a bit more exercise to cover it all.
Falling off of the wagon once in a while is normal, so don't beat yourself up over it if you do.
Success in weight loss comes if you are doing it for you. Sure! You can have other motives (I think we all do!) This thing is, you have to primarily be losing it and getting healthy for yourself, first and foremost.
If you are not used to certain exercises that you hope to get into, start slow and research proper technique. My sister and I just started the C25K (Couch to 5K) program. Neither one of us are runners, but by following the program and building up our ability to go farther, longer, we've been able to avoid injuries, thus far.
Those are all of the tips I have for now. Take a look at the posted threads in the Food and Exercise categories for more advice on specific topics. There is a wealth of knowledge there! Like I said, you can feel free to add me as a friend for support, too.
Best of luck! You can do this!! *^_^*

Thanks so much for your replies.
I could probably stand to lose more than 2stone (14lbs), but that's my start point for now, I don't want to overwhelm myself totally!!
I've been lookin around the site all morning and there are definitely some great features and a lot of great information.
Thanks again, and best of luck to you guys too!!
