If you have a refrigerator you can get some low-fat cheese and cream cheese, wheat or multi-grain bagels (it might sound strange but I keep bagels in the refrigerator), hummus, pitas...I'll keep on thinking and get back to you with any new ideas.0

if you have a mini-fridge buy some
1. yogurt (all natural or organic works best for me)
2. fresh fruit (apples, bananas, pineapple, peaches, grapes... whatever you like best!)
3. cottage cheese (this tastes great with the fruit if you're not really into the taste at first)
4. fresh veggies and dip (buy some carrots, green peppers, celery and slice into bite sized pieces)
Don't be afraid of "real" food! Trust your instincts (this has been a very big struggle for me lately, but guess what! i have not gained a pound). Make sure you're getting whole grains in pasta, oatmeal, and breads. and fill up on tons of fiber filled veggies because you're a vegetarian. How about for breakfast you do a veggie omlette with a side of fresh fruit? or some oatmeal and yogurt?
plan your meals in advance and try to mix it up... i'm sure your school has more options for vegtarians than you think!0 -
thanx a bunch. we do have a cafeteria just for vegan and vegeterians but it's sooo far from where i live and plus i dont have time for all that. in the morning i usually eat oatmeal and some kashi go lean. for lunch i usually only have time to grab a bit on the go and for dinner is salad, and cereal...lol.. i need more variety. I do have a mini frige which is great. i have some fresh fruit in it but it goes fast, and cottage cheese..i love it. i usually run out of stuff to eat in my dorm after like two days because i dont have time to stack up food ( i play rugby, we usually leave on friday and come back saturday night) and sunday i have to do homework and loundry..thank you alot for the tips..0

That's just what i was thinking.
Toss in some legumes to those salads.
There are some AWESOME recipes on here!
If you has a microwave running around somewhere....buy those ready rice things (I think Minute Rice has brown 1/2 cup servings you just pop in the microwave). Are you allowed to have other cooking items in your room? Like an electric wok or skillet? That would help with things like stir-fries.
I am not a vegetarian, but I have lots of students that are, I try really hard to work with them.
Maybe once or twice a week you could go to the cafateria that you mentioned. Just to change it up a bit.0 -
Magic Bullet is essential for any college student! Not only can you make awesome smoothies (vegetarian friendly), but handy after hours too...0
