Working nights makes me blow my diet

Let me preface this by saying I have been sleep deprived due to work and my gout. Gout is improving but the severe sleep deprivation has caused me to want bad carbs. I had no guilt putting away 2 glazed doughnuts the morning when I got off work. I'll get some sleep and I won't want all those nasty carbs and I'lll just make up for those doughnuts.

If you want to help your gout, go get some fresh or frozen cherries. There's an enzyme in the cherries that naturally reduces the levels of uric (or was it puric?) acid. I have hereditary gout tendancies, so whenever I want a lobster, I have cherries for dessert.

So, eat the cherries instead of the donuts. Cherries are 5 calories per cherry, and 20 cherries (1/2 of 1 average donut) is a HUGE handful. And they're just yummy.

I'm right there with you!!!! OMG!!! I work 2 over night shifts per week at a shelter for women. I also work a day job. I've noticed that when I work overnights, my eating sucks. It throws me all off. I'm not sure of the answer but try and stay strong and GET SOME SLEEP!!!

I know how that is. I used to eat a pint of ice cream almost every night when I worked mids. If you can bring your own snacks, it might make things a little easier.
