Not new to My Fitness Pal, but new to the message boards

I haven't really spent any time on the messgae boards or blogging, but today I decided I would. I think that all of us can offer support to each other and learn from each other. And maybe someone can learn something from me! Maybe a recipe, or a tricks when you're in a restaurant. I'm almost to the 30 lbs lost mark. Feeling proud of myself. This is a great reason to have to buy new clothes! So much better than the other reason! You know, I've been counting the calories for a long time now, but I still haven't gotten bored of this. I subscribed to Eating Well and trying all sorts of new recipes. I love cooking, hiking, tandem bike riding with my incredible and incredibly supoorting husband. I'm 49 and my 3 kids are all grown up and out of the home. They are amazing and also so supportive! I've got a "bonus" daughter (sounds better than step I think) that is 16 and beauitful. We've also got a 90lb baby that thinks he's human. A big dog named Whiskey. No idea what he is....cross between everything big! I am a dog lover and strong supporter of rescues. Always have gotten my dogs from rescues. I am an animal advocate. So this introduction has been back and forth, but I'm excited to be here even though I've already been here for awhile! Not sure how to make friends on here though....Treat yourself well!

Well done on almost reaching 30 pounds, so you should be proud of yourself!
If you want to make friends with people you can click on their name to the left of their posts and it will give you options like send message, add as friend and sometimes view diary if their diary is open. I think it is a good way to keep motivated as you can see each others achievements, it will show up on your page when one of your friends has lost weight or stayed under their goals things like that.
