Hello,
Thought I would finally introduce myself. I signed up a couple of months ago, but just recently started taking weight loss and my health seriously. I've been in the category of "overweight" for a few years now, but now I am considered "obese". I started taking Zoloft, an antidepressent 6 months ago for severe panic attacks and have gained 40 lbs. I know that a lot of it is caused from my eating habits as this medicine makes me crave sweets like crazy. The medicine has greatly improved my quality of life...I had gotten to the point where I didn't want to leave my apt. because I was afraid of having a panic attack, so I know that I have to take this med to live a normal life...at least for right now. So, my current goal is to lose the 40 lbs that I have recently gained and then I will go from there. I'm a little discouraged because I've read on several forums that it's "impossible" to lose weight while on Zoloft because it can significantly lower your metabolism, but I truely believe that if you work hard and believe in yourself, that anything is possible. Thanks for reading!

Congratulations for getting your life on track! Medications can put a damper on your weight loss goals, but that doesn't mean you don't try. Eating healthy and exercising will further your quality of life. You will have more energy, more confidence and fewer health issues. There is definitely more to a healthy life style than only losing weight! Good luck in your journey.0
