I have been stuck in the low 150s for 5 months now. I go up to 151 than down to 150 than 149 and back up again to 151 or 150 and so on. I just cannot get pass 150.
I have increase my calorie intake, have decreased the intake. But nothing has worked, I have 22lbs to go until I reach my goal. I measure my food I cook my own food and whatever I have for dinner I bring for lunch the next day. I pack my snacks so that I stay away from the vending machine.
I am not going to lie I still go out to eat but do my best to make the better choices and look at the calorie intake. I do not go out to eat everyday but once in a while. Please do not come back to me that I have become a 100% clean eater. I do my best at eating whole wheat bread, I buy Natural peanut butter, I eat fruits and vegetables and lean meats.
If you have any suggestions on how I can get past this please let me know, I am looking for support or advice not criticism.
Thanks

What kind of exercise have you been doing? Maybe if you switched it up at the gym it could help. For instance, I was doing the elliptical religiously and then stopped seeing results. Then I switched to walking/running and started losing again. Maybe your body is just getting used to the same old thing? Good luck to you, hope it works out!0

What fitness are you doing to help boost your weight loss? You might find that trying something different will shock the body into burning those pounds away!0

Change up your workout 15min increase and level up the intensity ..you may also want to watch carbs and sodium0
-
In addition to what others have said add some TIME. Also take measurements, to see what else is changing.0
-
Shake up your food.
If you eat boxed processed or microwave food for lunch.....go a week only eating unprocessed foods.0 -
What are you doing for excercise? Are you doing the same thing or do you switch it up? If the same, its good to switch up to different exercises cause our bodies get use to it and you want to keep the body guessing and give it a challenge..0

Like jpeter, I have been doing the elliptical religiously, while throwing in some Bob's Pure Burn, of the Firm to keep myself from getting bored. I have pretty much the same eating habits as you. I've been stuck int he 160s for a couple of months now and it's really bothering me. So I decided to do something drastic and started P90x this week. I'm day 3 into the LEAN program. Still haven't lost anything, but hoping for some type of change. Maybe changing it up is worth a try for you as well. Good luck.0

While I'm new around here, I might have a few suggestions about pushing past plateaus.
Firstly change what you are eating and when. This is force your body away from any normal routine you have and cause a shift in your metabolism. You need only change for 3 days or a week before going back. I'm not saying change calories (though that can help - different amounts - higher and lower each day) but a change in food type is also good.
Secondly, change your exercise, especially if you do a lot of cardio/aerobic exercise. Try doing some interval training / high intensity interval training (HIIT). Most HIIT can be done in 10-15 minutes and will burn more calories and change your metabolism as well. There are plenty of okay websites that discuss HIIT. I find http://www.intervaltraining.net informative.
Hope that works for you.0 -
I was stuck between 143-145 for 10 months, so I feel ya girl! In January, I changed up my workouts. I added heavy weights, within 3 months I had lost 7 pounds, I know it's not a lot, but I'm close to goal. I also dropped a size, almost 2! I also did a couple weeks of zig zagging calories and it seemed to help 'shake' things up. I didn't change the things I ate, just ate more some days, and less the others. So if you don't already, lift HEAVY weights! More muscles, more fat burning
By the way, I haven't been lifting regularly for about a month, and guess what, I'm stuck at 137-139 now! LOL Must get back at it!0 -
Thank you for posting this! I really can't be much help, but I am right there with you! It seems like we should start by changing things up. It makes sense. I go to Zumba 2-3 times a week and haven't done much variation or variety. Best of luck!!0

I’m right there with ya too! It is frustrating huh! I am starting to focus more on strength training and hope that makes some difference! It can be hard to switch things up, when you get used to a certain routine, and comfort zone, that’s how I feel anyway! It makes sense that it would be effective, though! Good luck, I will let you know if any of my new changes are working in the upcoming weeks!0

I started with P90x Lean routine lost 12lbs than moved on to Insanity and have not lost anything. So I have just started a hybrid with p90x and Insanity also started walking in the morning with my dog and bike riding pulling a trailer with my kids in it0 -

Measurements I have taken them after I completed Insanity and did loose some inches0 -

WOW!! 7lbs is good so weight training it is, I think with Insanity since it was pure cardio it did nothing for me in terms of weighloss.0 -

Yeah it really sucks I hate it, because you are working your butt off and nothing is moving ugh!!! I know that people say don't focus on the scale but it is hard we want to see that number move. I just started a p90x/insanity hybrid so will see how that works. Yeah please let me know how it works out for you .0 -
Maybe it's time to enlist the help of a trainer. Sounds like you are doing things right but your body is just stuck in a plateau. Do you change up the types of foods you are eating? Also, drink lots or water and change up and/or increase the amount of exercise you do. Interval training combined with strength training is the best for getting your body over the plateau and you'll start toning more too. Muscles burns more calories than fat so you want to continue toning and building your muscles while you're losing weight. And don't believe the myth that 1lb of muscle weighs more than 1lb of fat.0
