larabars as endurance fuel

This question is more geared towards refueling for workout sessions longer than 1.5 or 2 hrs, at the edge or beyond glycogen depletion.
Any long distancers ever use Larabars for this? I'm really quite bored of gels, blox, beans, what have you. I had a Larabar for the first time the other day (not running, just as a snack) and found it quite delicious- plus the all naturalness doesn't hurt.
I am concerned about digesting it during a long run, as I don't really have much experience eating real food during these.
Normally, I only eat a gel if I'm running beyond 80 minutes or so.
