I was going to post a nice response but I read what Taso and Mrsjbarnes wrote and they basically summed it up. There is a lot of good info here and I hope it helps.

Ditto on the cottage cheese comment. Sooo much sodium in regular cottage cheese. I've switched to dry cottage cheese, WAY less sodium! And it seems to stay fresh longer too.
Dry cottage cheese?? Never heard of it! I will have to look into that. I have also heard some folks suggest rinsing cottage cheese to wash off some of the sodium. Also, some brands have less sodium than others. Unfortunately I don't know those brand names offhand.0 -
Drink a lot of water that will help flush the sodium out of your body. plus eat more fruits and veggies and fiber thaty should help you a lot.0
