Looking for a kick in the behind...

Hey MFPals! So, lately I believe I have fallen into a slump. I used to love getting up everyday around 4:15-4:30am and working out. I go on the treadmill and sometimes do a round of Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred. Now, it's a project to get my *kitten* moving! I'm even falling off the "food" wagon...it was so easy to eat right before. Now, I guess I'm getting bored with it. I've been at a plateau for over a month now, at (around) 155-158 -- it fluctuates. It's really been getting me down...:frown:
I'm looking for some advice, suggestions, etc.
Could I be exhausting my body? I usually work out twice a day, once in the morning, once at night. Should I be switching up my exercises more? What are some foods I could be eating (or shouldn't eat!) to help lose the pudge around my waist?:huh:
I hope this isn't whiney or complain-y. I'm just really looking for some good ol' motivation. Please feel free to post progress pics too! :flowerforyou:

Aww don't loose momentum. You are doing so well, having lost 20lbs already!
What kind of exercises are you doing at night? Maybe you need to find something to bring that spark and excitement back for you. Can you join a kickboxing gym? Work out with a mate? Thats a very early time to get up in the morning as well.. unless you work different hours to a 9-5pm job.
If you have been at a plateau, you need to change things up so your body doesnt get used to what you have been doing. And are you eating enough calories? Sorry for all the questions! Feel free to add me as a friend if you want to0 -
Lots of protein, moderate healthy carbs (brown rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes), and tons of green veggies! Limit your sugar, drink loads of water... and make sure you're getting enough sleep if you're getting up early to work out. If you have access to Oxygen magazine or Oxygenmagonline.com, they have a lot of great nutrition plans for cutting through the plateau/dropping the last few pounds. The Eat Clean Diet cookbooks are SO awesome (I have both and love them), and will give you plenty of inspiration as far as different meals that will keep you full and fuel your body properly.
Maybe try giving your break for a while, too, could be you've worn yourself out doing the two a days.

Your body gets use to the exercise try mixing it up or try something new. My weight is the same and its hard work to keep my self at the right weight. What I do is mix it up and try dance for a couple of weeks and then maybe dance and a good old walk. Then maybe some of the fitness games you get on the wii.
It will also depend on you as well im assuming. It dffers from person to person cus my b/f is doing this with me in bout 10 weeks i lost 10lbs but he has lost nothing since he started about 2 weeks ago.

Maybe try working at a higher intensity doing short birsts ot HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) which will keep your metabolism raging and shift any brown fat you have there is loads of methods for HIIT other option take up a Kickboxing class or something as it is a full body workout so workin many muscles at once

Well, I get up and am exercising by 4:50-5:00am. I walk on the treadmill for either 40 minutes, or walk one mile and do the 30 Day Shred. I also do similar at night.
Don't you dare apologize for asking!! I've been eating a lot of calories, I'm eating back what I burn (sometimes less, sometimes more..).
I'm almost done the 30Day Shred. I was thinking of getting a Zumba DVD to try next...? Do you do any DVDs??0 -

Good call on Oxygen! I'm going to have to start picking that up I will also have to check out the Eat Clean Diet...I have heard of it before, I'm just a little lazy when it comes to following a strict diet plan haha
As for the protein....I'm all over it! haha I have been taking Intek Orange Creamsicle Protein Powder and eating Chobani yogurts. I have also been eating a lot of chicken (trying to!!).
That work out looks AWESOME! I am definitely going to try that tonight!!0 -

Yeah, I think I really need to start mixing it up. I'm like a lot of other people...Once I get comfortable, I stick with an exercise. I've also noticed it's been taking a lot more work to burn calories, per my HRM!! haha0 -

Ohhh, I've been DYING to take a kickboxing class.....I'm just nervous as to the expense! I've looked before and they were pretty pricey. I guess I need to do more homework
What kind of HIIT workouts do you do? Does the Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred fall under that category? I have been thinking about getting INSANITY or the "suspension" workout (?? not exactly sure what it was called...). Zumba looks fun too0
