Baked Taro chips

Taro is a root vegetable native to Southeast Asia. This plant is inedible when raw due to the high amounts of calcium oxalate which can lead to kidney stones. However, if cooked thoroughly, it makes for a high fiber low fat snack. My mom makes taro all the time at home by simply boiling it. Sometimes, she will shred taro and pan sear with with shrimp like hash browns. I make taro chips.

Sounds interesting! Can you get Taro at the typical supermarket produce section?0

Asian supermarkets usually carry it. I haven't seen them at any local supermarkets.0
