Its been about a week and my weight hasn't moved.. I was doing soo good to, but now everything is at a stand still. I eat right and exercise 4 times a week and yet my scale doesnt move. How long does a plateu last anyways?? So frustrated with this whole thing! So now that i got my complaining out of the way..Does anybody know how long this last? Ive tried everything exercising harder, going over some of my calorie intake, even eating my exersice calories and nothing is working... I would hate to get soo frustrated and just give up.. But waking up every saturday morning to weigh my self and the scale does not move its such a downer. Help!!!

Just wait it out and keep doing what you are doing, it will get moving again.0

Well, mine has lasted over 5 months so far.... just keep on going and don't give up. It will eventually move.0

I've been hovering around the same weight for a couple of months now.
I'm sure it'll move again soon, so not too worried, just so long as it doesn't start going back up.
For me, when I've been stuck and really wanted to get the scale going down again, I'd change something in my carb/protein balance, or seriously step up exercise, or do none for a couple of days. I don't know if there's any science behind it, but I supposed if what you're doing isn't working, try something else!
Good luck0 -
It's not considered a plateu until you've stood still for three weeks. Please keep at it - I have had standstills and in the past I'd give up but this time I've kept going and I'm now a total of 40lb down (lost 5lb before I logged it into MFP) drink plenty of water - watch your carbs and make sure you have enough protein - also, it may be that you're gaining muscle with the workouts and as you know muscle weighs more than fat! Keep going - you'll get to where you want to be xxx0

You have to take a lot of things into consideration. Sometimes I don't see the scale move when I bust my butt for a solid week, but it will take weeks to see results. Keep pushing and be patient. In four weeks of solid consistency, you should see the scale move.
But also be sure to take your measurements. You may not be losing pounds but you could be losing inches!0 -
My scale has stayed pretty much the same for the past month. Although I have lost inches, and I can see and feel more definition in my arms, legs and belly. It's just a matter of time before the scale begins the downward trend again. Good luck!0

This happens to everyone, so don't get discouraged! Make sure you're drinking a lot of water to stave off the water weight. Also, take your measurements. Sometimes you don't see a loss on the scale but you've lost a lot of inches. Also, try to invest in a scale that measures your fat. If the pounds aren't going down, but the fat is, it means you're gaining muscle. Finally, do you use a heart rate monitor? This is helpful in making sure you don't overestimate how many calories you're burning during your workouts. Just keep at it, the scale WILL move again, I promise!0

Ask yourself two questions..."Do I risk giving up and possibly gaining more weight? Or do I be patient with the process and see what I'm really capable of?"
This process is a marathon, not a sprint and don't be discouraged!:) Everyone's body is different and sometimes it takes a couple weeks for your individual body to adjust to your new lifestyle.
Check out your food diary...Usually you can figure out a couple different red flags if you're not losing anything.
Keep up the GREAT work and don't give up...remember... YOU ARE WORTH IT!
God bless:)0 -

+1, part of living a healthy lifestyle includes your attitude and if I can step up on my soap box for a moment I'd say that the first thing you need to do is get the idea out of your head that there should even be a difference after a week.
What if there was a difference? What if you lost 2 pounds? Would you stop, goal accomplished? Keep eating right and exercising. In my opinion the amount of change in your weight should not even be considered until you're stuck with your plan long enough to look at how your diet has led to trends.
For example, begin to build correlations between the foods you eat and not only your current weight but your energy levels, mental attitude, stamina. MFP is a means not an end.0
