I just got my HRM the other day and I want to make sure that the VO2 is set up correctly. It automatically did 220-25(my age) so I want to make sure this is correct. Does anyone have any info on this??

I didn't even know there was a way to watch my VO2 on my FT7! I'll have to learn how! :O0

I don't think you can? I just read through the manual (the online manual, not just the quick guide provided with the HRM), and I see nothing about VO2 settings...
I'm intrigued...0 -
One of the reasons I bought it was because I was told it was capable of the V02.

That blog is the main reason I decided on the FT7... Did I miss-read something??0 -

I went back and checked that blog entry. I did not specifically mention the FT7 as a model that had a manual VO2 entry feature.
My understanding of some of the forum comments I have read on the Polar website is that they are phasing out both the manual VO2 entry and the fitness test as they update their models. That doesn't necessarily mean they are downgrading the models (doesn't mean they aren't either)--it may have more to do with updated software algorithms for estimating workout calories.0 -
so i guess the Polar doesnt show the VO2 and you dont really get the correct calorie intake correct?0

Unless you get your VO2 max tested using a treadmill and an oxygen mask then you aren't going to know what it is. Additionally, it changes all the time in response to aerobic training and changes in bodyweight.
So, even if the HRM did give you the ability to enter a VO2 max, whaterver you entered would be a guess that probably wouldn't be any more accurate than what the HRM is estimating.0 -
Polar FT7 does not have V02.. What you calculated(220-age) is Max Heart rate.
The older Polar models(F6 and up) had Vo2. The newer Polar models(FT40, Ft60 and FT80) have V02max.0
