Vi-Shape Diet - 680 cals a day.... ummm not good!

I made a thread recently looking for a BB coach to sell Shakology at cost.

Yea, I was dreaming but in that process someone mentioned Vi-Shape Nutrition Shake. Like Shakology it has tones of nutrients and vitamins found in everyday food so its not just a protein powder.

Ok, now that I’ve sounded like an infomercial, I was considering buying this shake (thats only $45 for a 30 day supply BTW compared to Shakeology @ $119) and drinking it for breakfast and lunch and have a balanced dinner (probably some veggie slices during the day to ward of hunger and keep my metabolism going BUT, that would mean eating only 680 cals a day – not good. Found this an odd realization b/c isn’t the Slim Fast plan structured the same way, the Special K 2-week program as well? Yes perhaps there is too much sugar in those 2 options but still, it's a plan and not a diet.

Anyone else try out this shake and/or similar meal plan? If you've done Shakeology 2x a day as well, please let me know.

To show you the cals I calculated;

Breakfast: 1 shake (which is 2 scoops, 90 cals total) w/ 1 cup 1% milk = 200 cals
Lunch: 1 shake w/ 1 cup 1% milk = 200 cals
Dinner: 100g frozen chicken breast, 5 oz (10-11 spears) asparagus w/ ½ tsp evoo, ¼ tsp garlic powder, ground black pepper and 2/3 cup cooked brown minute rice – 280 cals
Total: 680

I have a friend that is a distributor for Visalus, and she swears by it. However, your body does need more calories so you would need to snack in between. From what I have heard, it does allow you to lose weight quickly, which in my opinion is also not healthy. My friend's friend lost 4 pounds in just 3 days, but in my experience, it's safest to only lose about 2 pounds a week. I personally use a different product that does not require any sort of major change such as this but more of a natural change. But I have heard the shakes are tasty. :-)

Real food is so much better for you in the long run... just my opinion!!! I would not do a plan that doesn't allow me to eat, nor one that restricts my calories to a dangerous level. For me, the whole idea is learning a way to eat that I can live with for the rest of my life!!! If that means it takes me 2 years to get there... it's fine!

    @ DTatum

There is an entire package for $250 with more supplements and mix ins and I won't be buying that, too many chemicals and herbs/drugs means too much research and better to just stay away but that package is probably what caused your friend to lose a lot fast.

A friend of mine has been doing it for about 3 months now and has lost quite a bit of weight, though she did have a lot to lose to begin with. I know she's doing two shakes a day.

You could always add snacks, more veggies etc, to bump it up to 1200, but you might as well not purchase the shakes and eat healthily.

I'm on the Shape Kit which is a 30 day supply of 2 shakes a day for $117 shipped. I LOVE the shakes, I love how I can personalize the shakes with over 100 different recipes known vs. shakeology which is only 2 flavors. Plus I get twice the amount of shakes for the cost of 1 Shakeology shake before shipping.

I still snack twice a day, maybe 3 if I have dessert. I really love the shakes, I'm happy I signed up as a customer (I'm not a distributor). I've lost 9 lbs in 3 wks on the shakes which is great for me, I'm happy with them. I think that I will lose more weight now that I am tracking my calories.

Lastly, I'm over 680 calories a day with the shakes, more like 1300 before exercise "credits".

Yea Kel-Be, you are the inspiration to this thread!

Went to order last night but it may automatically sign me up for auto delivery and I'm not sure yet if they'll ship to Canada so I'll probably contact their customer service (if there is a #) today to confirm.

I've added some almonds as a morning snack to my anticipated plan, a granny smith apple in the afternoon and 1/2 cup all bran after dinner b/c that stuff is awesome but that would still put me at 900 cals before exercise. I'll keep working on it!

I may actually start this with the protein powder I have just to see if I can go a couple days constantly eating shakes before investing but thanks for introducing me to this stuff! Yea it/s $45 for 30 day serving, Shakeology is $119 and Vega is $140, yikes!

Speaking of the friend of mine (call her marge) that does it, she's friends with the woman (call her peggie) that signed her up on facebook. Peggie posted a picture and tagged my friend in it, it was a table full of food (I'm talking a dozen eggs, two chicken breasts, probably 24 apples, etc.) with the caption saying that you would have to eat all of this food to equal all the nutrients found in the shake :noway: . I immediately called her out on this and requested a nutrition label. I quickly discovered the dozen eggs would more than suffice to cover most of the values and replied as such. By this time, Peggie's husband, sent me a private message containing a link to his website saying that I should check out the product. I sent him a nice response as well detailing my thoughts. His response was very snobbish and almost sounded like he enjoyed making money off of selling this to people. A couple more other of the shake users chimed in on the picture on how it's so great, the last one saying that when he loses the weight he'll get some deal to get the drink for life or something. I replied with how this sounded like a great business plan as you get the consumers addicted to the product. I believe at this time I was either blocked from commenting or Marge untagged herself because I could no longer see the picture or any of its comments.

I had way too much fun doing this. This is the trimmed version, but you get the picture.

Ok I am not a BB coach...I have the chocolate shakeology....and you can mix and match it up to make different flavors etc...I do like coffee mocha one and a bannana and peanut butter one....honestly I can make one shake into two it makes that much lol....so in theory the bag could last about 2 months the shakeology is not a "protein" shake though ...I know that my husband adds whey protein to his for an after workout protein shake....so far I love it....

I don't know much about any of the shakes yall are talking about but thought I would toss in my two cents even though you have ordered something lol
