Hello everyone.

First I want to say this is a great site, I joined about 2 months ago and became addicted to it :)

This might sound stupid, but I don't know really where else to ask :/
In the past I've had experience with ed, had huge problems with emotional eating and binging and than I would not eat for a few days to ˝lose the weight˝, I decided to stop with that, start eating healthy and lose weight the healthy way. It's actually going great, I almost don't binge at all anymore and I'm really happy that I'm doing better :)
But now and then a day like that still happens. And I am wondering what to do then the next day, since I don't want to start again with the old habits and not eat, this is not the healthy way to deal with the problem.

So, any suggestions? Should I just eat fruits the next day or maybe just have smaller meals but still 5 meals or still eat normally and forget about the binge .. What is the best way to deal with this?

Thank you for your help and good luck with your weightloss! :)

Im certasinly no expert but the way to get the most from MFP is to only look at today, never look back and try not to worry about the future. I dont suppose there is one person on here that doesnt binge occasionally. its just a matter of degree as to what each of calls a binge.

You are doing great and hopefully, the 'binges' will become less and less and you will get all you want from here and start to live the life you want.

Most important thing - keep smiling! Feel free to send a friend request

Hmm, I'm not an expert but if we step back and look at your overall goal, it sounds like you want to get used to eating a healthy amount of good food every day - not bingeing, not starving. Is this right?
If so, then I think you should write off the binge and not make a big deal out of it by punishing yourself by restricting food intake the next day.
In other words get back to normal programming as soon as you can.
    Good luck!

    Hi there,
Firstly well done for making the decision to stop the cycle. I've been there myself & it is a long difficult journey but you will get there :)
When i've had a bad day & binged a little i try to forget about it. What i try to do us for the rest of the week keep within my calorie goal & try to burn a little extra.
So for example my calories are set to 1270, normal day i workout which burns 380 cal so i normally consume 1500 cal. If i've had a binge i'll do my usual workout in the morning & add a 20min walk in the evening. I still only consume 1500 cal so i end up with a deficiet of about 150-200csl which balances out the extra cals from the binge. Does this make any sense?
The important thing is not to punish yourself, accept that you consumed extra calories & work out what you need to do to burn them off
I hope this helps you, good luck with your journey
    Jen x
