I have a pair now that I bought many, MANY years ago and they're just not doing the job. It's been a bit of a struggle doing my program (CLX) because I'm more worried about losing my grip than I am on focusing on my form. So, any suggestions would be good. I'm looking for something that'll keep my hands dry with a decent amount of padding on the palm as to protect my soft skin. Thanks!

I don't know much but I was on Beachbody's website and they have hand weight gloves. You can get the same ones on Amazon...? good luck! ~Corina

Yeah, hand weight gloves aren't the same as weightlifting gloves. Thanks though!

I ordered some b-girl ones Amazon and like them so far. They were less than $15.

I was looking at those. Did you measure your hand and order according to their size chart? If so, how's the fit? Thanks for the suggestion!!

    Hi Cee !

There are really two types of aids you can consider: gloves or weightlifting straps. You can get either at a sporting goods store such as Sports Authority, etc. - they are very common.

Weight lifting gloves do help if your palms are sweaty and to protect your hands from callouses, etc. Lifting straps go around your wrist, then you wrap them around the dumbbell to help support the weight. Search for weight lifting straps on YouTube to see how to use them.

I use the straps to help me manage the heavier weights for squats since I hold 30 lbs. in each hand and just don't have a strong enough grip for them.

If you are looking at gloves, my daughter likes the neoprene ones, but i prefer leather. If you go to the sporting goods store, you can try them on to see how they fit and decide which ones you like best. Straps are pretty 'universal' - the only thing you really need to choose is color! :)

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks to everyone who's responded!

mmtiernan, thanks for the strap suggestion. My GRIP is what the problem is when I'm doing squats (I'm holding 25 in each hand) so now I'm going to look into the straps. I do prefer the leather myself. My hands definitely get sweaty, which is an issue when I'm doing things like hammer curls (the bar slides in my hand!) so I still need to get new gloves that'll wick the sweat away. Thanks for your help!!!

Yeah, I measured my hand. I ordered a small and they fit pretty well.
