I have had 5 TERRIBLE colds in the last 4 months- they've been Especially bad lately.... I read somewhere if you're overtraining you can get a cold/other health issues.... Does anybody know any truth to this?

sounds like you need a lot of vitamin C :) I have gotten colds more this year as well when i started 5 days a week, it could just be your body adjusting, but make sure it gets proper vitamins and minerals... they play a big part. :) I have not heard that before about the overtraining, maybe someone else has though :)

I've been training less and have my first cold in over a year....I recently read that people who have a lot of day-to-day hassles get more colds.

Yes that's true. It happens to me too and trust me i can understand your disappointment and frustratedness. Just when you think you are getting into a rhythm, you get sick and you have to rest for a while.
Overtraining weakens your immunity making you more prone to cold and other viral illnesses.
Something that helped me was changing my goal to losing 1 lb/week from 1.5lbs/week. I guess it may be related to eating too many calories also.

Any stress, whether physical or mental, sets you up for a weakend immune system.

Are you getting enough sleep? Are you eating very well with alot of fresh fruits & veggies? Are you taking a vitamin supplement (the plants are mass grown on depleted fields...)?

If your body is not 100% right, you are also setting yourself up for muscle tears, broken bones, etc.
