People talk about not losing weight cause they're in starvation mode:
There is more to the food we eat than what we think. Some think it's just about calories. It is.... but it isn't... You can eat an extremely low caloric diet, IF you eat the right foods to maintain your muscle mass, and if you eat the proper amounts of fats. And you will will energy from fat, not muscle. Top food nutritionist suggest a 40:30:30 40% carbs, 30%, protien, 30% fats. This figure is based on your muscle mass also on your exercise activity. The more you exercise the more protein you need. Once you know your protein needs then the other % are based around your protein.
I have seen people say, "i ate 1000 calories per day, and i lost no weight" okay... 1000 calories of what?!?!? There was this one study where people ate 1000 calories of pure carbs and showed very very little loss of weight, compared to another diet structure. People automatically will assume "it's a high protein diet" no... A constant intake of protein with no carbs can cause death. This is called Rabbit starvation, it's protein intoxication.
Should I eat back my exercise calories?
Some people say "when i eat back my exercise calories i lose more weight than when i don't." This can be true if you eat mostly eat carbs during the day and then eat a high protein meal after your workout. Protein releases glucagon which helps release body fat. Glucagon is the complete opposite of insulin, insulin stores fat, glucagon releases it.
I am eating at my my proper caloric level/or eating below my caloric level, with no results in weight loss.
Question, are you really?!?!?!?!?! Maybe you just think you are. I already discussed how certain macro nutrients can inhibit fat loss. How do you even know you're BMR calculation is right? I have used the boddybugg it's a device you wear on your arm all day, it measures body temperature, moisture, resistance... to determine your BMR. It is 90% accurate, you know what? those BMR calculators where dead wrong. When I was using the bodybugg, I would need to eat 3,000 calories to maintain my weight. I would eat 2,500 and exercise for another 500. That's a net deficit of 1000 calories per day. Which in turn is 2lbs loss a week. The BMR calculators said I need to eat 4000 calories to maintain my weight... big difference.
. Maybe you think your activity level is "light activity" when ti's really sedentary. Most of these calculators, are inaccurate. the 1200 calories on this webpage is supposedly "starvation mode" Would it be starvation mode for a 110lbs woman? no. Those calculators for BMR are based on height, age, weight, activity level. If 2 people have the same information, with one person who has more muscle mass... the bmr will be incorrect. It's a general calculation. From my experience, highly inaccurate.
There can be a ton of human error when calculating your calories, or how many calories you ate. Are you measuring your calories? or just guessing... Big difference.
