Hi! My name is Ana and I just joined a few minutes ago.

I'm planning to lose just 10 lbs but I also have a fitness goal of being able to run for 30 minutes straight without stopping!

Currently, I'm averaging 8 minutes with 2 minute breaks in between every 3 minutes of running, however I may have over exercised because my legs have been in pain for the past week or so and I haven't been able to run.

any advice on jogging for beginners? I've never been a jogger at all so I am very new at this and I'd love some tips from experienced joggers.

I'm thinking maybe I'm not stretching enough or doing enough of a warm up before my jog, but I am not sure.

Thanks!

Check out C25K it might help you. Google it and you should find info. There are many people on here doing it and say it really helps.

You could also google running stretches, I found a pdf and printed it out to use right before running, good luck!

For what it's worth, I started walking for exercise and started feeling great, but after two months my knees started hurting me. Every morning I was fine, but then by the end of the day I could hardly walk the pain was so bad. I had a job interview, so I wore different shoes to work. They felt so comfortable that I ended up wearing them all day, no pain. Come to find out that the shoes I was wearing were just worn out from the walking. New shoes and I was fine. Now I have a pair of shoes specifically for excercising.

I've been using this site for 8 weeks now and I've lost 23.4 lbs!!! I am hooked!

Welcome and Sorry for the long sad story!
