Though you can probably get some recommendations on here, your best bet is to probably call your doctor and/or google the info

I would definitely second this. Consultation with a medical professional would certainly be the best thing to do in this situation......

This is a very individualized subject. What you should do is monitor your food for 3 days. Figure out what is the average caloric intake you have per day. Then go off that. For weight loss, subtract 500 calories from that.

I have hypothyroid as well. That's not really the way you should be approaching it. It's not necessarily a matter of less calories because of your thyroid condition. Obviously you are here, so this is the site to use to determine your calorie goal for however many pounds you want to lose a week, for example 1 pound is the normal and recommended. But, as for your thyroid issue, you just need to be on medication and make sure your numbers are normal, then calorie intake and goals can be followed just like a person with a normal thyroid. Weight still does seem to come off slower but reducing calories in an even greater amount, not just for me but many other people I've either read about or talked to, doesn't give any better results than normal and usually is just a temporary affect until your body adjusts. The key again is using medication. Add exercise and a metabolism charging healthy diet and you'll be fine. I lost 45 pounds this way and am pretty much at my goal weight/BF percentage.
