Since losing weight, actullay mostly just in the last couple weeks, I have started to notice my hair is getting really thin. I have never had super thick, full hair, so this is really bad for me! I eat at least 65g protein every day. What else can I do to help with the hair loss?

I was going to say are you getting plenty of protein.

Are you taking any appetite suppresent or other diet pills? I lost a lot of hair 2 years ago which coincided with me taking Alli. I asked the pharmacist if it was a known side effect but he sad it wasnt listed.

Brazil nuts are supposed to be good for hair loss in men due to the selenium. Dont know if it works for women

Try biotin supplement (comes in different brands). I have friends that swear by it for hair loss (also helps your nails)

Next time you go to the doctor, have them check your thyroid. Since losing weight, your thyroid may be a tad out of wack. One side effect of hypo-thyroidism is hair loss. Just a thought!

Hair thinning in women can be down to changes in hormones. However, stressful events can trigger alopecia, which is hair loss. That's what I got after I worked abroad for 3 months - th ehomesickness took its toll on me and when I got back, I started losing hair in big patches, but that was very psychological related - your body turns on your own immune system. I know women who have just given birth get thinning hair sometimes due to a massive hormonal shift their body goes through after labour.

Best bet to see your doctor if you're concerned.
