Weight loss is a journey, and I'm sure we all know how it is a complete lifestyle change. What did you change about your lifestyle, when you decided to commit to being healthy and happy? Did you start eating breakfast? Start exercising more? Change the way you think?

For me, I have started drinking tea. Instead of reaching for a snack, I reach for my favorite mug. I try to alternate between decaf and caffeinated. It's a great way to up my water intake and get the health benefits tea.

What has been the most helpful for you?

I didn't purposefully change anything, I am just finally in the right frame of mind. The last 2 years have been a roller-coaster. A hard pregnancy, a very hard delivery/recovery, 3 kids, 2 of which didn't sleep. I was averaging 4 hours a night for ahwile, and I struggled with post partum depression for quite awhile.

Now I am feeling better, I am getting out of the house and exercising, I am cooking instead of ordering in, and I am finally getting some sleep. These are all things that I did before baby and just had to get back into the habit of doing it all again.

    I've changed in two ways:

    1) I think about what I put in my mouth before it goes in, and decide if I want to spend the calories or not. I don't deprive myself of anything, but now I stop to think about whether or not I really want it. If I really want it, I'll make it work.

    2) I arrange my social calendar around my gym schedule. For example, a guy wanted to go on a date with me and mentioned two days he was free. I said, "I'm sorry, I can't do those days. I have spin class.". In the past, I would've forgotten about the gym and gone on the date. The gym is a priority for me, and I intend to make it number 1 for a while. Everything else will fall into place while I take care of me.
