If you ever thought you couldn't do this......

For years I put off dieting because it took too long to see results. I tried supplements, crash diets, fad diets, you name it, I tried it. I was looking for results and fast. I convinced myself that I was fine being overweight and when my friends were cutting down on their portions, I grabbed for seconds. Then I stumbled upon MFP after a visit to my docs and weighing in at the highest of my life. This was my wake-up call.
I realize now that there is no magic wand that can melt away the pounds or no magic pill to take to lose weight. I realize now it takes discipline, action and support.
So far, I'm only down 9 lbs, but believe me, I feel so much better! I feel active, energetic and alert and I can't wait to see how I'm going to feel when I lose 20, 30, 40 lbs!!
So, if you ever thought you couldnt do this or felt you had so much weight to lose that you didnt think it was worth it, take it from me. Every pound you lose you will feel and everything you feel will be better than the way you feel now.
Good luck to all on your journey.

Great job! Never say "I've ONLY lost __ pounds". Every pound is an accomplishment. Say "I've kicked butt to lose __ pounds"..or something equally positive. Remember, every pound is part of a larger goal. Keep it up, you're doing amazing!!0

I'm sure you speak for a LOT of people when you say that you wanted a quick fix. I did too - and I still do, I'm not going to lie. More than 2lbs in a week would be great! - but I now know that it's not going to happen, and shouldn't. Why eat cabbage soup for a month, lose a couple of stone and put it all back on again when you are allowed to eat real human food? Definitely the best way to go.
Best of luck with the 20, 30, 40 pounds, I'm sure they'll fall off0 -
Thanks for posting!! Congratulations on your loss so far!! I have noticed slightly more energy as well so I'm hoping an extra 20 will be amazing!0
