(I originally posted this in my blog but then thought why not post so more people can toot their own horns...We work hard, we deserve to toot them every now and then!)
WARNING: This is me tooting my own horn - please feel free to add your own toot! (No, not THAT kind!)
This week I...
Weighed myself on Monday after giving up the scale for 10 DAYS! Yes, 10!!!!!! I found that I was "up" from my "official" weigh in, but "down" from my last weigh in 10 days previously - overall, I wasn't thrilled, but, I lived to move on and...
Take my measurements to find I had lost nearly an inch off of my waist...I took these becuase...
I started a challenge with a group of amazing people to complete 30 days of...Ripped in 30! I then managed to...
Endure 6 days of Jillian Michaels wrath! This lead to...
3 days worth of 3 lb weights doing the workouts, some encouraging words from you amazing people, and then 3 more days of abuse using 8 lbs weights...yes, 8 lb weights - I, obviously, lived to...
Improve my strength and stamina! Day 1 - Circuit 1 - I squeaked out 7 "regular" pushups before hitting my knees, the 2nd go round of that circuit, I got 5 "regular" before hitting my knees...
Fast forward 6 days - I did 10, yes 10!, pushups the first time, and 8 the second go round! Hello budding strength! This leads to...
My next difficult spot which was the "side planks" in abs - Day 1, I couldn't even get one without the modifier...now, here we are...day 6...I cranked out 8 regular side planks on each side before dropping to the modified version.
I LOATHE the "Running Man" in the 2nd circuit...but...I finally completed the "Running Man" in full (without *****ing too much...too much...)
I did all the moves at either the advanced level OR at Jillian's pace (moderate level, I guess?)- and I did all the abs, minus the side plank, at the advanced level.
And, finally, I agreed to do the Firecracker Run locally which is a 2 mile fun run on the 4th of July. This will be my first! I decided then that I better get my butt in gear and get working on my running (which is part of why I agreed - so I had something looming to keep me going)...So, today, I finally hopped on the treadmill to run...and run I did. I shocked myself a few weeks ago by learning I could actually run more than 2 minutes and NOT die, (can read that blog about it being 99% mental) and have sort of run off and on since - I have a cranky knee so I just sorta put it off. Anyway, I shaved 30 seconds off of my mile - I was able to run 10 full minutes without stopping for water and that pit stop was about 15 seconds and off I went again - completing a mile in 12 minutes, almost straight. Now, I know that's not fast, but, I'll work on my speed - right now, it's distance and learning to breathe so I don't die!
I then managed to complete my FINAL day of Ripped in 30, Week 1, after running a mile - yes, I did it back to back...I was drenched with sweat but I felt FANTASTIC!
And, oh yeah, I even lost 1.8 lbs (maybe more by now) by the time I hopped on the scale again on Friday (So 1.8 lbs from Monday to Friday). This number officially puts me at the lowest weight I've been able to get, and just about 3 lbs away from my first "mini" goal...(which, as ****ty as it is to admit, is FINALLY dropping into the 180's...yes, that's a GOAL thankyouverymuch! Because after that, I know it's smooooooooooooth sailing).
I hope this isn't seen as gloating - I'm just proud of my accomplishements this week - esp the improvements, no matter how small. They keep me motivated to do more and get better, run faster, try harder! As do all of you and your encouraging words and virtual "football *kitten* slaps" - haha - but, seriously - I am so thankful for all of you and encouraging me and understanding, and taking the time to bask in the glory of each others accomplishments! It's amazing here!
So, I had a pretty good week overall! How about you? Add your accomplishments - no matter how big or small!

I hit my lowest weight on Thursday, I am quite thrilled about it. Finally those FINAL numbers approaching.
More important.... I applied for a 10K race and managed to set up a plan how to survive it with a help of a friend from mfp.
And finally I hit the gym 3x this week, accomplishing my goal.
Now, on to the next week!0
