How do you spread out your calories?

I was having a large breakfast and lunch, with a light dinner, but today I found it much easier to stay within calorie doing the opposite (complete with a burger King meal for dinner )

How do you play it? Which meals are lighter/heavier?

Lately I have been doing all small meals. Today I have had 4 meals and I feel great. No food after 7 pm and you will be good to go. For the first week it can be hard to go down to just small meals as you are used to big meals but in the end you get used to it and not eat as much. It is also good to drink 2 glasses of water before ever meal. :)

My trainer said to eat a larger breakfast and lunch then have a light dinner.

It's really odd...I don't really balance my calories. I know a lot of people suggest having a big breakfast but my dinners are more often the heaviest meals of my day...helps me feel satisfied so I won't be snacky at night.

It also kind of depends on what I'd like to eat...which I never know until the day I wake up. :P
So I plan my day around them, like-- (ex. lunch w/ friends).

So you're not alone in that way! Dinner's my heaviest meal, too.

I don't really do this on purpose, but I've noticed most days my meals are pretty close in calorie count.

Bumping for more responses. I did think a big breakfast was a good idea, but yesterday the opposite worked a treat. I'd like to know what others have found.

Most days my meals balance out (about 250-300/meal) and I also snack a lot during the day

I usually aim for under 300 cals breakfast. About 350 for lunch, 400 at 4pm and whatever I have left in the evening, depending whether I have been running that day or not.

On an ideal day I have 4 small meals and save my cals for the evening, when I know I will probably want a small snack before bed. But my days have been less than ideal for weeks now and sometimes I save up all day so I could have a good dinner...

My biggest meal is whenever I am the most hungry. :) That usually happens to be after I work out. So, typically it's dinner. But I've been working out in the morning from time to time as well, and I eat a massive breakfast. I also encourage snacks.
