Need help with food diary

HI! Im new here and I am abit confused about how the food diary works. I am always quite abit under the allowances for my carbs, fat and sugars. Is this ok? Also I like beer, Id rather use the calories for that! ( I know , I know, beer is fattening) Im usually under the calories that I am allowed per day as well.
Any help would be great! Thanks to all!!

    Well I just saw a diet specialist the other day and she said that you should only have 3-4 oz of meat with each meal. And about the same with your startches/carbs (one piece of bread is a serving). Then your other half of your meal should be vegtables. If you do that then you have room for other things. I am supposed to have a min of 3 snacks a day (I am breastfeeding) I do all of that and am under my calorie goal every day and I am not hungry. Its okay to be under your goal but just dont go into starvation mode or else your body will hold onto fat :( I also enjoy beer but right now it just doesnt fit into my diet, because I am training for my first race. But I am sure that having a beer once in a while wont hurt you losing weight as long as you exercise and diet right.

    how do u measure ounces? Shall I buy some sort of scale?

    3oz is about the size of a deck of cards.... your meats and starches should be about that size. I don't have a scale LOL most things say how big they are on the package. Your you can just geuss.
