Is it wrong to watch Man vs Food while on the elliptical?

I was working out today and saw the episode that showed the 3 best ballparks to get food at. The 1st place was in Sauget , Illinois. They sell a cheeseburger that has a Krispy creme doughnut as the bun and philly cheesesteak nachos. If I was a weak man without determination this would have bothered me. It did look good but it isn't worth it. I just may be able to do this. Keeping my fingers crossed.

MvF is like food porn. LOL I absolutely love it! But it doesn't matter if I've just eaten, or I'm in the middle of eating, or whatever, it ALWAYS makes me hungry! It's such a great show tho. :) Have you seen the one with the 3 pound cinnamon roll?? Oooh, baby! lol

I was watching the food network for a week during exercising its fun to watch. I like having shows on when I exercise and sometimes I get bored watching the same thing all the time so I find something to watch for a week then I move on to something else... I was watching cupcake wars :)

That is just about 2 1/2 hours from me. I'm not much for krispy cremes, but I may have to see what those nachos are all about.

3 pound cinnamon roll!?! That is food porn for sure. My favorite so far was the 2 pound burrito. I still get hunger pangs just thinking about it.

hahaha this is great! I always watch the food network while I'm on the treadmill..... What makes it even worse, is sometimes I even have my music up super loud, and the tv volume muted, and I'm just watching the food shows (staring at all the foods hahaha)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who watches these shows while working out

LOL good topic... made me smile.
  • I have over 200 channels on my Directv and it always seems like I always end up on the Food Network or the Travel Channel. I may have to block these out like I have too block the adult channels from my 4 teenage boys. LOL.

I have noticed that I don't watch the gluttony shows like I used to. (MvF, and the others) I just don't find the thought of gorging myself on stuff appealing anymore. I can appreciate that there are some great things to eat and all, but really, who needs to eat 3 gallons of ice cream in one sitting? I must have changed...

Only if you consider watching clips of EpicMealTime while working out as a health risk also.

It's not wrong to watch that show at any time as long as you don't imitate that very unhealthy pig-out behavior. Recently, I wrote a complaint to the Food TV producers informing them that the majority of the shows on that channel are promoting more American OBESITY. Children model what they see so, if the parents, grandparents, etc. are following the lead of those high calorie recipes on those programs, then our children are headed for a life of major medical issues for the majority of their shortened lives. Adult onset diabetes in children is an American disgrace. It can be considered child abuse when the caregivers permit it to continue.

Good for you for being astute enough to realize that this is not the lifestyle you want to follow. :)
  • I like watching that show while I work out or otherwise because the proportions are DISGUSTING, and some of the food combos are just repulsive- it's like reverse thinspiration because it reminds me NOT to eat like that!

I watch the food shows on the food network & travel channel all the time. Once I was interested in how many calories were in a burger that Adam was eating, so I put in the information the best I could guess. I'm sure I was close enough and the total was over 4500 calories. I'm like damn, that's three days worth of calories for me.

when I am on a machine at the gym I am either watching Food Network or Cake Boss. I know, it doesn't make sense! especially when Paula Deen is drowning everything in butter! LOL

For me, MVF lost it's interest when it became more about the QUANTITY than anything else. I don't CARE about a sunde that is as big as the kitchen sink, but show me the most innovative AND gluttonous food? I'm there with my pen and paper. -But I only want a BITE!

Just watching him makes me sick to my stomach! I never have been one to pig out though, just bad choices and to many carbs. I also don't like that (and similar shows) because I think its wrong to eat all that and get paid while there are starving children. Not to make anyone feel bad. Just my personal opinion.
