Losing weight while training for a half marathon

I train for half marathons for about 3-4 months. In that time, I only manage to lose about 2-4 pounds. I'm getting enough exercise, so it's likely that my food sabotages my weight loss. Any tips/suggestions on what I can do foodwise to help my weight loss along? I know eat "healthier" and "smaller portions", but I'd like specific tips and recipes if possible.

Hi,
it is difficult to say if your 2-4 pounds is lots or not or right without knowing your stats...
However yes it is possible to loose more as an endurance athlete whist training for a competition.
Myself and many other athletes simply follow established sport nutrition guidelines:
http://www.olympic.org/Documents/Reports/EN/en_report_833.pdf
The document has been issued by the International Olympic Committee, it is not some fad diet! ;-)
Most sport nutritionist will point you in the same direction.
This fits in with MFP
I am not going to add anything more, but if you need any help to work out some of the points let me know.
Good luck!0
