What do you do to stick to a healthier lifestyle when you travel and home made foods are rarely an option?

When I travel, at buffets I eat fruit and veggies first before getting any "main dish" stuff. And I limit to 1-2 small pieces of dessert - at dinner only. I also make sure I get in my water, and pick low cal liquid alternatives -like herbal tea, and only the occasional fancy drink - like one a day. But I also make sure I get lots of exercise in.
when I've been to countries where there isn't much in the way of vegetables, I just do the best i can and step up the exercise.
Also, I always stay away from rich sauces and dips to help reduce unnecessary calories.
But also its a vacation, I'm not as stringent as I am at home. So if there's something i want to try, I do it. One meal, or one snack will not derail everything I've done.0
