So last week I started training for a 5k

And two different people gave me these to workout plans and they both seem really great.. But I need help deciding which one to do. Any advice?

The couch to 5K is for people who don't have experience running, and the Hal Higdon is for people who have at least been doing a bit of jogging for a little while now. The C25K is a much slower pace.

Agree with the above post about the slower pace for Couch to 5k, try them both and see which one works for you! I just ran my first 5k two weeks ago. It was awesome!

I started the couch to 5k, but only got through the first 2 weeks. Then I just started running on the treadmill and seeing how long I could go. Setting mini goals, like 10 min, 20 min, then 2 miles, 3 miles, etc. Then, once I could do it on the treadmill, I started going outside to try to build up endurance outside.

I ran my first 5k this month. I had never run the entire distance outside before the day of the race, but I did it that day and I think it's important to note that it's not super important to run the whole distance ever time you go out, but to be able to get to a point where you're comfortable with shorter distances so that you can build onto them. Then, when you have to push yourself a little further, you can actually do it.

    Good luck to you!!

I think I am going to do the couch to 5k one then. Because right now the other one has me running 1.5 miles to start out and its really really hard for me. Plus I am pushing a stroller (does that make it harder?) I just really want to be able to do the 5k.
