Weighing myself is putting pressure on me and making me unhappy almost every time (even when I weigh once a week.) Had anyone put the scale away for a month and made some nice progress? The scale has becometoo depressing!!

Hey, I feel you. But I think maybe you are being too hard on yourself lately. Look how well you have done so far. You've steadily lost since you started.
Sometimes I feel the same way, then I look at how far I've come and it's not such a big deal.0 -
When I first started my husband stole my scale and hid it. I'm the same way with it.... it can almost control me! I loved, after the first month, getting on it for the first time and seeing a loss! To me, that's definitely more encouraging than getting on once a week and not really seeing anything. I have an analog scale, and I can't track the little increments like a digital one can. But all those increments add up....especially over a whole month!
If you think it'll be better for you do to it that way, then do it! We gotta keep ourselves motivated and positive any way we can!0 -
I think Scales are a bad thing once you come to it
I weigh more now then i did a little while ago, but fit into smaller clothes
go figure
Must be muscle since changing routines and upping protein
but to me, scale doesnt seem to be the be all and end all
as you could get rid of weight unhealthly and be in the same boat as you were before

I only weigh myself once a month. I am more dependent on reviewing my dairy and making adjustments to stay within the limits and getting enough exercise which is for me hitting the gym at least 3's a week and whatever else I can do at home. This allows me to focus on good eating and not be married to the scale.0

I'm now in the situation that I don't have a scale for 1 month, as I'm on Holiday in the states. I really don't like it, not to weigh in for a month...0

I'm doing the same thing! I was a slave to it. LOL. I'm not weighing in again until July 1st! I'm excited to see a big number Good Luck! We can do this!0

I tend to do that.. I either forget to weigh or it hasn't changed so I swear it off for awhile. The one time I did it, I lost 5 pounds.. so it def. does help and can't hurt!0

I weight myself like 4 times a day. It's ok for me because I see progress.0

I don't own a scale and not sure if I ever will.
I am doing this to change my lifestyle and become fit. I refuse to be worried about a number. It's not that I will not weigh in, I plan to. Next time I visit the Dr's office, they will weigh me on the same scale I got weighed on the last time and I can see what my number is then. For now, I am staying under my calories, getting a lot more exercise and making better choices.
This will likely take me a year or so to reach my goal and I want to do it in a way that is forever this time.
If the scale is giving you stress, then don't use it. Stress is a killer, it is proven.
For those of you who use the scale, daily, weekly, monthly.... more power to you. If that helps you I am 100% behind it.0 -
I will only weigh myself maybe once a month. I actually measure myself and do so once every two weeks....'number wise' on a scale, I can weigh an extra 40lbs (according to the scale) and I don't look it. So the scale adds more pressure for me. But again this is what works for me:0)0

Sometimes it is about reaching beyond the scale to find that we are on the right path. Pull out a tape measure, or check out how your clothes are fitting. If putting the scale away is what you feel is best for you then do it, but don't let it haunt you. Keep up the good work! :drinker:

I onlyweigh once a fortnight. I don't have scales, but have borrowed some for a few days, and I can see how weighing in all the time can be really depressing!
Give it a break and come back happier and healthier :happy:0 -
I hate weighing myself too, but I do it. I think it may be beneficial to weigh yourself once a month to see if you're going in the right direction though. Otherwise I would go more by how my clothes fit, etc.0
