I have been on here for a few months and I am doing great. I started out at 144 and now range between 125-127.5. Now you all might read this and think that I am lucky to be at this weight..but my obsessiveness had gotten me so anxious and crazy at times. When I am with my family, I talk about calories, etc on everything. I think about how I cant go over my calorie limit, etc or else I will gain weight. I weighed myself last week and was finally at my goal weight -125.9. Then I did somethign stupid, I weighed myself yesterday and today and I have gained 1.6 lbs. I know that its prob water weight but I cried about it yesterday. WHAT PERSON CRIES ABOUT THIS.?????? I am starting a new nannying job on Tuesday so I may be more stressed but this is driving me crazy. My mother was formally anorexic and while I def wasnt that.. I think that my obsessiveness has now driving me crazy. I wasnt like this before but now that I am close to my goal I obess about it. I think about it so much that I am going crazy. Please help.

Instead of having a goal weight, why not set a goal range for yourself. Instead of 125.9 - set your range for 124 - 129. That way, when you flucuate up or down by a pound (or THREE!), it won't freak you out. Otherwise, anytime you have any water gain (due to TOM, salt, carb bloat, whatever), you're setting yourself up for a freak out. *just a thought*0

I'd suggest you LOCK UP or THROW OUT the scale hon. Once a month at this point and you're find... You know if you are gaining by how your clothes fit!0

That sounds like a good idea. I will try that. Thanks0

I pretty much agree with everything said here ^0 -
I am driving myself crazy. I told my bf to throw the scale away but he hasnt and I have no will-power. I am hoping that in a few days, Ill be back to my old self and not be driving myself up a wall. Thanks for understanding!0

One, I would consider talking to a professional or getting some regular kind of therapy/counseling, because this might be bigger than something you can just turn off.
Two, Throw your scale in the trash. You are where you need to be the number of your weight is no longer relevant.
Three, it's time to start weaning yourself off of straight calorie counting, and getting to a point where you can maintain your weight without micromanaging your calorie count. Start trying days where you list what you eat without counting the cals then at the end of the day log it and see how you do in comparison to your cal goal. Do things like this- train yourself to eat without the counter.
Best of luck. Take a deep breath. It'll be ok.0 -
I agree with the previous poster. We all fluctuate from day to day (and even within the day) and that is why a range is probably our best bet. I'd also suggest finding someone you feel comfortable talking about this feeling with so you don't feel that the emotion and stress of it all is controlling you. Finally, try to back off on the weigh ins to once a week and give yourself permission to be human and make mistakes. Live a little too...we all deserve a minute or two to enjoy life as well and eating in freedom every now and again is a part of that enjoyment.0

This!
As for the scale, you say you "told the BF to throw it away". Why don't you do it yourself? You shouldn't be that dependent on someone else. It's your life...take some responsibility for it.
I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but really...empower yourself.0 -
Thank you. I have spoken to my bf and mom about this and they think that I am fine. I will go back to weighing myself once a week or even once every two weeks. I wasnt obsessed at all when I was weighing in like that. I think that I am so close that my mind is trying to mess with me. I have been through 3 brain surgeries. I KNOW I CAN DO THIS!!0

first of all, don't even look at calories in anything for at least a week. just eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full. next week, pick one day and record how many calories you are eating. from here on out, just do that once about every two weeks just to make sure you are on track and not eating too much/too little. by the way, great job on meeting your goal.0

Agree with everyone here! You're definitely not crazy! (Well, no crazier than the rest of us
. My weight fluctuates too, usually 5 - 7 pounds (might sound like a lot, but I've had to learn that for me it's not
. You have a fantastic routine set up and ups and downs will be a part of that. Don't ever forget you're awesome and doing great with this and you're an inspiration to many many people out here!
