Hi everyone. I just joined today and thought i would introduce myself. My name is Camille and I'm happily married to the love of my life for almost a year now(We've been together 6 years in February) and have been overweight my whole life. I was only diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 13 and have had it since around 6 years old. And have been over 200 pounds since i was 13. I exercised allot and ate well but without medication it makes it very hard to lose weight. I was 225 for years. After meeting my husband(Who is a Newfoundlander and eats huge portions) and starting to work in a call center, I slowly started to gain weight and today at my heaviest I'm 338 pounds. We've been slowly making changes and im starting to lose weight. At 338 im now a bit smaller than i was when i ordered my wedding dress a year and a half ago and when i got married I hardly fit that dress and gained even more afterwards. I"m almost down a full dress size now. and Am not only controlling my portions I'm eating smaller portions than I even did before i met my husband. When i do groceries I only buy fresh produce Nothing pre-packaged except for tortillas(I even make my own bread though on occasions i will buy some) I'm an emotional eater so in order to combat that i try to eat every 4 hours and once a week I allow myself a treat(Usually honey garlic wings and taters from Sobeys(a 5 wing combo)
Ive tried to lose weight before and the BIGGEST mistake i did was not eating enough calories. It actually took me a long time to realize it. I would eat so well and then realize id only been eating around 1400 calories. For someone who is over 300 pounds. That';s not enough calories. My body would go into starvation mode and then I would binge. Since i started eating more calories my body doesn't scream for food like It did then.
Im also planning on joining the local YMCA. I'm looking forward to getting into better shape and being able to swim laps again. I love swimming. Im also surprisingly enjoying doing weight training. i was a member at another gym before and loved it.
Anyways enough of my ramblings. Just thought i would introduce myself
