Weight loss per week????

Hello I just got started on my diet two weeks ago and have lost 14.8 lbs. I know that those numbers are going to slack off. I am 5ft5 and weigh 221lbs. I am doing a diet my dr gave me that is called the 1-2-3 diet. One being lean protein with two being good fats and three being good carbs. What is a reasonable weekly weight loss goal? I am in this for the long haul. I don't want to lose 30lbs and get frustrated and quit. Just curious what your experiences have been and how long it took to lose the weight. Oh I have gradually been adding in exercise. Can't wait to hear your stories! Thanks, Renee

I lost quite a bit of weight the first week or 2 ..but I was 210lbs..If you weigh that much and cut your daily intake in half..like I did..and start working out instead of staying on the couch ..you are going to lose..I am now settling down into a pound or so a week and that is much better..especially for my skin!!!
I am aiming for 1lb a week...Some weeks I lose 3lbs...some I stay the same...and once in a while I seem to gain a pound or 2 back..but this time I WILL NOT QUIT...NOR WILL YOU!!! we CAN do this!!!!!0 -
1-2 lbs per week is generally considered to be a healthy rate. For those that are very overweight, it is possible to lose faster, but in order for that to be done healthily, it needs to be done under the supervision of a doctor and/or dietitian.0

Probably 1-2 lbs a week BUT you have to remember you will plateau its part of the process and during your plateaus you need to increase intensity or length of time and just keep plugging along plateaus generally take 1-3 weeks and they do come often...just dont give up and dont panic and start changing your diet...thats a big mistake most people make...they think plateaus are some sort of curse or clue they are doing something wrong when in fact they are part of the whole process0

1 to 2 pounds is definitely the generally accepted safe healthy amount per week. I do know people who's Dr put them on diets to lose way more, but they were in the mid 300's and in severe risk of illness or death. Slower weight loss is definitely better for skin tone as well! Especially after age 30. Didn't notice your age so that's just a general statement.(very important to me!) As Just_Bethy said, don't get discouraged if you see times when the loss gets slower. Look back at your diary, food and exercise, and evaluate. If you're doing things right then just keep pushing on. Those stubborn moments happen to everyone! Congrats on the loss so far and Keep Up The Fabulous Work!!!!0

I have lost as much as two pounds in a week, and as little as none for two weeks. At first I got a little discouraged when I would see I didn't lose any, but then I thought, hey, at least I didn't gain any either! No matter how much or how little you lose, always keep your eye on your goals, and not how long it takes to get there. Slow and steady wins the race!0
