This really is an NSV vs. an Exercise topic.

Used to run for exercise in college. Hated. Every. Minute. Of. It.

Basically sedentary since then. (A long "then")

Start C25K last week. Ran/walked 3 days. OK, good.

I'm using my Android to track my process. (BRAND NEW) It went south on Thursday & stopped working. I have a complicated exchange set up with my cell phone carrier so no new one for about 10 days. So I didn't run/walk Sat or Sun. And I felt it. Just didn't feel good. Felt sluggish both days. (I did work in the yard 6 hours on Saturday planting and moving bushes, and mowing, seeding, and fertilizing the lawn, but that is a completely different experience.)

So - ran/walked this a.m. Didn't feel awful.

Took my shower, cleaned up. I have been feeling great since 7:00 this morning.

Maybe this exercise thing DOES work to elevate your mood.

Seriously. This is phenomenal for me.

Crazy stuff, huh? Who would have ever thought getting out and pounding and sweating would feel better than relaxing on the couch? It's nice to know I'm not the only one who finds it amazing to actually enjoy movement. I'm glad you've found something that works for you!

I have similar experiences as well. When I walk or bike in the am I am tired for a bit, but I get a boost of energy in the afternoon to get me through the day!

Yes! I may not have lost inches/pounds but I feel fantastic just because I worked out . . . it's a wonderfully feeling!!!

Isn't it wonderful when our physical activity becomes something we enjoy and actually lifts our spirits as well being healthy and all that good stuff?! I have been doing Zumba and am loving it! However for the past week I have had a terrible cold and haven't had the energy to exercise and I feel like an absolute slug. :grumble: I can't wait to get back in action!!

I have noticed it too. The mental benefits of exercise are amazing. My mood lifts and I feel so much better.
Congratz on your running. You are doing awesome.
