I have been the same weight for almost 2 weeks now. This may not be a long time to some but for me its a lifetime. I just finished my 6 week 6 pack workout. I stripped down got on the scale....yep... STILL 0.2lbs away from breaking this dang plateau!!! 0.2!
Is this a cruel joke? Are there a bunch of models hiding nearby laughing?? 0.2!!!
I worked my tail off during my workout this morning. So much so, that I was repeatedly saying "bikini bikini bikini" half way through my workout, just to make it though.
Now, I know that I can do this. I can get back into my skimpy black string bikini..I'ts reversible too! My husband loves that. lol
I know I can!!
I will because I CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel better. I love this site. I love the support. I love all my MFP buds!!!!!!
Have a great day!!

I would maybe try weighing tomorrow morning before your workout. I have heard others say that your body holds onto water during/after a workout so that your muscles repair?? Not sure if I said that correctly, but maybe someone with more experience with this will post. You have a great attitude which is "You CAN do this!" Keep up the great work!!0

I hear ya... check out my recent posts .. many are having the same problem0

I was stuck for 12 days (my second plateau...the first was almost a month!). I started P90X during that time and GAINED. I got discouraged and took a few days off and now I've lost what I gained and then some. I think it has to do with rest days.
Are you giving yourself any rest days?0 -
I try not to have a "rest day". I have been at this for a month. But... a couple weeks ago. I had a "bad" meal. I found a different mind frame and I guess I just want to keep on trucking until I reach my goal. This plateau just makes it frustrating.0

You need to give yourself at least one or two rest days a week so you don't damage your muscles. It gives your body time to restore its essential nutrients that it burns during exercise. It will also boost your weight loss giving yourself a couple days off then when you start again go an extra mile on the treadmill or lift an extra couple reps or pounds during weght training.
Good Luck!!!0 -
Maybe you should try doing a cleanse, sometimes it helps to jump-start things again- I have been struggling this month as well- bouncing back and forth with the same 2 pounds-:ohwell:0

jvkh127 is right. Rest day's ARE important. Not for your emotional health (though, that is a factor) but so that your body can combat its exhaustion and rebalance itself. What I'm saying is that rest days ARE good for fitness. Muscles repair and systems reset. Weight evens back out. I'm willing to bet that if you implement one rest/stretch day/week, you'll find fewer and far-between plateaus, if any.
Good luck.0 -
It's frustrating to not see a change on the scale, especially when you are working so hard! I completely identify with the person earlier who was doing P90X - I gained around 2.5 lbs as well when I first started doing it, and I only started P90X to get off the stinkin' plateau I was ON! Well, I kept it going with the workouts and made sure to eat enough, and I got bettter about drinking water - and I think that finally did it. I'm losing again now, thankfully. I agree you need rest days, but please make sure you're eating your exercise calories, because that can really stall your progress. You don't have a whole lot of weight to lose, so it might come slowly. Being patient is not my strong suit either, but just keep doing what's right for your body and it will respond0

Plateaus are dragging you down, that's for sure.
I've been on one for 7 weeks, losing and gaining the same weight 3 times in a row.
I'm working out with a personal trainer, and at one point I was ready to give up exercising. He changed routine, I changed the number of exercise days, and now I'm finally over it :-)
Patience! You'll get there if you don't give up!
