Belated introduction from Boston

Greetings everyone.
I have been using this site since mid-April, and I have lost 14 lbs out of the 20 that I had set as my goal. This site, the information that I have received, and the tools for tracking calorie intake vs. those expended has made the weight loss pretty painless. I am also using the Bodymediafit armband device to track my daily activity.
My story is a common one. A job in the technology field, while sometimes mentally challenging, it requires sitting at a desk for most of the day. A semi-sedentary lifestyle, not-so-great eating habits, long New England winters, and the onset of "middle-age" - well there you go, 20 lbs of excess baggage.
This is my first real commitment to a daily execerise regimen AND managing my diet at the same time. I hike with my dog and walk at luchtime now, weather permitting, and do cardio at the gym 3 times a week. My plan is to start weight training once I hit my target 20 lb goal.
Take care and keep on plugging away,
Dan

Welcome to MFP, Dan, and congrats on the weight loss thus far. Good to see you're a Dapper Dan man, and not a Fop man! :laugh:0
