Memorial Day Weekend - 3 days of barbecues

So... I seem to have survived the holiday weekend just fine. I attended three different barbecue parties, one Saturday, one Sunday, and one Monday, and I ate awesome delicious food at all three... and still kept within my calorie goals. Now granted, I ate entirely too much ground beef over the course of those three days (almost a pound!!!) which I know is not exactly the healthiest choice in the world. But on rare occasions like this when I have three days of parties, I'm not going to worry too much about it. I also ate a couple of hamburger buns, which I almost never eat.

But by exercising hard, keeping my other meals a little lighter than usual, making good choices at dessert time, and avoiding the beer, I was able to really enjoy the party food and not blow past my goals.

Hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend too! And if you DID blow past your goals, don't sweat it too much. Get your focus back, hit it hard tomorrow, and keep your eye on your goals. One weekend of unhealthy eating will not reverse your weight loss unless you allow it to derail you completely.

Wow! Great job! Cannot say the same for myself! Although, I vow to get right back on track so I know I'll be fine :)

Excellent -- maintaining your exercise can keep the calories in check over the average, and it's a HOLIDAY! Rational, moderate, and occasional indulging within a normally healthy plan should be fine! Good job!

That is a super accomplishment ~ congrats!!

I didn't fare so well although I went in with the best intentions. The social situations are probably my biggest challenge. But the important thing is to refocus and keep moving forward.

    Thanks for sharing. :)

Yeah, it's all about the fun and family. You made good choices, and you moderated your intake. That's a pretty big deal.

I stayed under my calorie goal, but over my carb goal today.

I treated myself to a full fate grilled hot dog, but on a slice of whole wheat bread for lunch. For dinner, I treated myself to 4 ounces of grilled rib eye steak and salad, sweet potato veggies, etc . I also had a small slice of angel food cake. That's not too bad, especially for a holiday.

I had one gulp of beer and drank a few ounces of white wine. It's the last i'll have until June 9th, when it's my good friend's birthday. Hey, it's a holiday.
