I lost 20 pounds last year and since finding MFP a few months ago, I've lost an additional 23 pounds for a total of 43 pounds. . When I started MFP, I put in the weight I was at that time. So now, it's like I never lost those first 20 pounds. How should I count those? Should I go back and change the starting weight on MFP? I have a lot of weight to loose and I want credit for every pound!

Thanks!

I would go back and change your starting weight, or you can just write your goals and starting weight in your signature. You can also add a ticker, which either says how much you have lost, or how much you still have to lose. Congratulations on those 20 lbs!!

I moved my starting weight to track total loss as well. I had lost 15, but gained 10 of it back before starting MFP. I figured that the first 5 pound loss was critical to count, since I kept those off!

Go for it! You deserve to be recognized for all your hard work this far! I would recommend you change your starting weight to where you started your weight loss journey, so we can celebrate your total loss. :flowerforyou:

I changed my start weight to my highest weight back in February when I started this journey. I didn't join MFP until April.

I changed it too! Go ahead, change it! The chart looks funny, but at least you have the visual of how much you've lost altogether!

when you go to check in go to I think edit an entry and you can add the original weight in on a day before you started tracking on MFP

I agree with the other posters. I'd change your starting weight too. Believe me I want credit for every ounce I lose!!!

I think you could but a blurb about it in your signature and start from where you are right now. Great to be recognized but you will be again!
