I just started working out and eating better 6 weeks ago. I have hit a point where I am not loosing again and need help. Diet is good so it must be the exercise. Here is what I do:

I work at a gym as a swim instructor. I don't count anything I do everyday because I did that before I tried o loose weight.

I swim in addition to that 3 to 5 times a week for at least 20 minutes. I ride my bike outside when weather permits. I am up to about 3 miles. I also ride the bike at the gym for 30 minutes 3 times a week. I use the neat elliptical we have that burns 10 calories or more a minute 2 times a week for about 30 minutes. I just started adding the weight machines but have no clue what I am doing. I am about 30 to 40 pounds over my ideal weight and don't expect to loose it all at once but want to see results.

So here is my plan for the month of June. Join me if you would like.
30 minutes of cardio everyday minimum. Swimming, Bike or elliptical.
weight training 2 to 3 times a week alternating arms and legs.
Stay in my caloric range but find more potassium and calcium options due to allergies.
Goal is 5,500 calories by the end of the month and 8 lbs loss.

My gym has a new program that starts tomorrow. You get a "Passport" and for every group class you attend, they stamp it. You try to get 15 stamps and at the end of June, you turn it in for a chance to win a prize. (I REALLY want the gift card to Target!) So, this will be a great motivator for me to go to the gym.

So, for June: Minimum cardio (class or no class) 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week plus 3 days of strength training.
  • I complete an hour or a bit more of cardio a day. I finally located my resistance band so i have been doing 30 minutes of that following my cardio which is a four mile walk, an hour bike ride or an hour of tennis. So my goal for June is to continue with the resistance band work out for get into the weight room twice a week.

That all sounds great. Just did my final weigh in for the month of May and I lost all the water weight I gained last week. I am behind my goal weight for the month but only by 3 pounds so I say it was a good month. Hoping to bump it up that notch this month. I like the idea of the stamps and winning a prize. I will mention that to my gym as well. Wont however work in the pool. We do have a pass key system on most of the machines though. I should look into getting myself one.

I have to teach today at 10:30 for a friend and will be able to get in a 20 minute swim before I need to work again. Hope I can get in a bunch of extra workouts for the last day of the month.

Thank you all for your support.
