Hows it going everyone! New here, and I am from California. I am 6'2" and when I began my training i was 289.4lbs. I am a week and a day into my training to lose weight. Ever since the last year of high school when i stopped playing basketball i kept eating like i was still playing basketball. Needless to say I have put on some weight seeing how high school ended 5 years ago for me now (lol). I weighed 190lbs my sophmore year. I have been battling with my weight for most of the 5 years and have managed to keep myself between 280-299lbs.
I have always told myself I will never go over 300lbs. and by some miracle when i weighed 299lbs it was 299.7lbs. So I still havent gone over it yet! (this was about 3 years ago). I decided when school let out for summer, it is time to lose this weight and keep it off once and for all. When I started last week I weighed in at 289.4lbs. And getting back into my basketball training mode I have managed to lose 13lbs in 7 days.
Now I weigh 276.4lbs. And my first Major Milestone is 225lbs. So i am about 51lbs away. I have 3 months left before school starts, and my plan is to be within striking distance of 225lbs.
This is what I am doing to lose the weight:
1)Cardio (typically I jog/run 6 miles in a hour) 6 days a week either on a tredmill or elliptical
2) I do light strength training every other day
3) Eating 1100 Calories or less a day (I make sure to get enough protein drink plenty of water)
4) Take a multivitamin to get the nutrients my diet lacks every day.
So there it is! That's a little about myself. I want to say thank you to all you out there because I have seen you are all very supportive. If you want to add me so we can keep track of each other shoot me a request! That's pretty much why I joined this site so I can keep myself accountable, keep track of my intake, my progress, and make some friends to talk to on here!
Cheers all!

1100 calories sounds a bit low, for the work you look like you want to put in. But it may be right for you.
Just make sure you are getting enough nutrition to support what you are trying to accomplish.
How much time running at 6 mph?
I'm 6'2" as well. I have to eat 3500 cal/day to maintain...
Good luck, lemme know if you need help.0 -
Thanks man, yeah its low. I know its risky but I make sure I use the calories toward the things i need and then everything else i can't get I use multivitamins with the meals to make up for it.0
