Is beans. For every pound lost, I buy a 1pound bag of dry beans, I put those bags of beans in a reusable shopping bag, when I feel myself backsliding, I carry around my bag of beans. It is a tangible reminder of how far I've come. When I reach my goal, then I can donate my bag of beans to my local food pantry.

What is you favorite motivational tool?

hey, that's a great idea! I recently came across something that was 12 pounds, the 12 I have lost, and boy was that heavy! Wow! It really is amazing to see in actual items what you have lost! Even though the clothes are not lose or no one notices your weight loss, seeing all 12 pounds does wonders for motivation!

Wow that is such a neat idea. I often think of the pound of margarine that I am not carrying around or 5 lb bag of sugar. We all have our little tools but you dont just imagine it, you have the actual picture to help you remember. Good luck with moving ahead.

OMG That's awesome! *and cheap I might add!

    Hmm. Tool. Tool. Tool......

I'll be honest. It's my blood glucose meter. When I see a low number pop up I don't want to ruin it by eating junk. I feel like the meter will find out! And glare at me or something. I guess I use it as a game to beat. I know. It's totally odd. But that's the hones truth!

I guess my favorite motivational tool is just MFP in general. I wasn't losing any weight until I started tracking my calories using MFP. When I find myself "stuck", it is usually because I have strayed from logging calories. But I really like your idea, and that you can eventually do some good with it by making a donation to a food bank. A+ for creativity.

Or you could get a peice of string and cut it at your biggest size and keep it in your handbag and when you are feeling low just pop the string out and put it round your waist and see how far you have come!

    good luck to everyone!! x

That's a wonderful tool! I had someone tell me that I lost the same amount of weight as their six year old child. Now I imagine how hard it would be to carry around a six year old child everywhere. That's crazy.

    That is a great idea!!!

Yikes... I'd be carrying around a 40lb bag of dog food.... and still have to carry a 5lb bag of sugar and 1lb bag of beans. Damn... that's a great visual. I may have to do something like this.

Right now my motivational tool is just reading my posted quotes from my bulletin board, and... trying on clothes that are one size too small.
