Ok I see these posts all the time and I just skip on over. But now I actually need some help!

I am looking for an HRM reasonably priced. As in not over $50. OMG That's my grocery money people! and waterproof. Not just water resistant to some weird feet number. But because I swim every day. I need to see what I am really burning in calories. I saw some stuff with strap on chest pieces. Um no. But I was thinking the watch kind perhaps? Any suggestions for a tattooed mermaid?

The HRM with the chest strap are the most accurate but you are going to pay more for them. My HRM was around $100 and it says it is water resistant (to a certain depth) but I have not tried it in the water yet. I use a Polar FT7.

I don't think they make them that say waterproof any more, unless you get very expensive scuba watch. I have the one with the chest strap, and I got it at Olympia sports with a sale coupon for $71.00. They are more accurate than the watch one.

    Best wishes

I agree with the above posts. The HRMs with a chest strap are the most accurate. I paid about $70 for my Polar FT4 and it says "water resistant". I've used it regularly for swimming with no problems and I just wear the strap under my suit - you dint even know it's there. A worthwhile investment!

Anything Polar will work.. and Remember with HRM's, you get what you pay for... so you may want to think about saving up for one.
I have the FT7 and I know its water resistant. You can wear the strap and the watch in the pool, but you can't use the watch under water.

Thanks. I did some research and found some women had trouble with the chest strap. I am a 42D. I feel it might fit weird. Or do I...put it under my tatas? I might just end up saving for a good one in the end.

I am a 32G, so I know your pain. You put them under your tatas:)

The straps are also adjustable and I know for polar, depending on where you order it from you have the option of getting a smaller or bigger strap..

A lot of people say the strap feels like your underwire from your bra cause thats where it sits... so thats also something to consider. I'm only a 32B and even I find it a bit uncomfortable.. but its nothing unbearable.
