    My thinking is, that if it is "added" to something you are going to eat, it's probably a packaged food, and not the most nutritious choice anyway!

    HFC was created to help make packaged foods taste better (due to lack of freshness) and last longer on the shelves. Packaged foods were create for soldiers at war, and civilians who might not have access to fresh foods during times of rations.

    We generally have access to fresh whole foods, and IMHO that is the way to go!!!

    You should check out the documentary "King Corn." I saw it on Netflix instant view and I'm not sure where else it is available to watch, but it is a real eye opener about not only high fructose corn syrup, but about how corn is in almost everything in the "normal" American diet, how that huge change basically stems from agriculture policy changes in the 70s, and how that corresponds to the explosive rise in obesity rates. It's pretty interesting ....
