Were you on the internet and then it went to what looked to be an internet explorer page that appeared to be scanning your computer and reporting numerous infections? if this is true, i hope you just closed the page. If this happens again, back out or close IE and start over. These are websites trying to scare you into buying there software, which probably don't do anything. Most important of all, don't download anything!

I use free AVG, google free avg for it. There is also super anti-spyware that can find some things that AVG can't, but you have to tell it to run unless you buy the paid version.

If you actually do have viruses on your computer and it can't be cleared, you may have to perform a fresh install, which will wipe the harddrive of everything. Obviously if you do this, make sure you have everything off the computer you want first. I believe on all computers they have a small section on the drive which will perform this for you, you just have to google the specific set of keys to hold when the computer starts.

Feel free to message me with any more questions.

I replied elsewhere but like the above poster said - sounds like malware to me. Run the Malwarebytes app and do a full scan. http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

That should fix it. Also, try Firefox. I hate IE.
