Ok, so I just descovered Wii Fit last night. OMG it is fun! I sweat so much!! Not kidding... EVERY part of me is sweating after 30 mins. So... Since I am new to working out and eating well... I have a few questions. There is a running game where you run in place. I enjoy it, even though it is only 2-3 mins long. But is running in place the same as running outside? And is it safe to say that as long as I am sweating, I am doing some good. I always fear that I am not going to get the results I want. So I want to make sure that doing the Wii Fit is going to help me lose weight. So far my favorit cardio games are the Step ups, and the Hula Hoop... and And Extreeme Hula Hooping lol. Super fun... So is there anyone who has done the Wii Fit games for weight loss... do you think it helped you achieve your goals? I sure hope so. Cuz this is a great work out (I think) and I can do it when the kids are napping!! That has to be the best part for me... I always use the kids as an excuse. I don't want them out in the rain, so I don't go in the rain... They can't go to the gym.. cuz thats just not safe (no daycare)... So this is a god send! Any suggestions or tips would be lovely! Thank you for your support! I am on my way!!!

It can be helpful as long as your not taking big breaks between each exercise since they are so short and your constantly switching. Try making an exercise program on the Wii Fit that last at least 30 minutes so your going consecutively instead of stop and go stop and go. This way your heart rate remains up instead of slowing down often.
    Good Luck and have fun!!!

Ok... I think I am a little confused (being new and all). When I do it... I do back to back cardio for 30 mins. Is there a way to make an "exercise program" where it will automatically go from one to the other with out having to search it out? Cuz that would be awesome!!! Thank you for the advice.

Once you play it more, you'll unlock longer runs, more repetitions, etc. I've had success with Wii Fit Plus. I talked about it in a thread yesterday actually:

    Enjoy!

When I first started out I did Wii and I lost 30 lbs in 3 months.....also cut out junk food. Yes, it works! I love the running one and the more you run the more in unlocks for you to run longer. I used to do the Island run 3-4 times in a row and that will definitely have you sweating your booty off.....lol Keep it up! :flowerforyou:

The wii fit plus has the option of setting up a regime of a desired length and will just run through them for you automatically if that helps! I love the wii fit. Also a consideration for you to get is Zumba on the wii. It is great fun and builds up a sweat. I have just recieved a 10 minute solution wii game so will be giving that a try later! Can't wait!

If you have Wii Fit Plus, you can go into the "My WiiFit Plus" category (should be displayed on the same screen with your fitness bank and the "Yoga", "Strength Training", "Aerobics", and "Balance Games" categories) and either make some selections from their pre-made routines or create a routine of your own.

This option isn't available if you own only Wii Fit.

Wii Fit Plus actually allows you to create a workout, so you don't have the long pauses between each exercise, which is great! I find that EA Sports Active and EA Sports Active More Workouts give a much harder workout, as well as Gold's Gym Cardio (boxing)..I am so sore from Active and Gold's Gym!! EA Sport Active 2 (which I don't have yet) now comes with a leg band with remote already in it so you don't have to use the nunchuck, and it comes with a heart rate monitor and does all kinds of cool things. If you haven't already gotten Active, I suggest going straight to the newest one, Active 2.

    Good Luck!

Yes I love the exercise plans they allow you to build!! I have Wii Fit Plus but I didn't realize this option was not available on Wii Fit.

Looks like we just have the regular Wii Fit... Super sad! Wii Fit plus sounds awesome! Well... for now I will just have to do the regular one... I guess it is better than nothing. I normally spend my days watching tv or sleeping (I know... its depressing). I will get to my goal... Just have to play around with different foods, and exercises. My wife and I are also starting the 30ds tomorrow... So that plus the wii fit, plus some extra cardio via elliptical/tredmill.... I am sure I will meet my goals! Thank you everyone for your tips.

I So Love "My Wii Fit Plus!"

For the first 2 weeks I tried this program "alone" and lost weight. I later incorporated a treadmill & exercise videos, for I like a variety.

~You burn more calories then mentioned - Need a HR Monitor
~The Combined exercises using the existing Wii Routines for a 50 min duration or higher alternates between: Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics...; therefore, the exercises are back to back

I love the fact that you can add outside workouts to your activity log.

IT'S ENCOURAGING WHEN YOU CAN ACTUALLY ENJOY YOUR WORKOUT, WHILE GETTING IN SHAPE.

    You Go Girl!
