Looking for a good free Expense tracker

Similar to MFP, I'm looking for a good recommendation for the financial side. Anyone have any ideas, so far I've come across mint.com. I know quickbooks is a good one, but is the free version all that great or is there something better?

Before I bought Quicken Basic (like $30) I made my own in excel. I use excel quite a bit at work, and love formulas and pivot tables. I made a column for check number, vendor, debit, credit, type of purchase (dining, grocery, gas....). There was a tab for cash, checking, credit.0
